UK-based Candella Systems is bringing an original top down shooter called Eclosion to PC, PSP, Wii and XBLA. Typically associated with its outsourcing work, Candella has created the shmup in conjunction with Serbian independent developer Eipix Entertainment.

While a date and precise details of how the game will be distributed on PC, PSP and Wii are yet to be confirmed, the download release on the Xbox 360 suggests a digital route may be planned for Eclosion on the other formats.

Designed to pay respect to classic retro shooters, Eclosion features both single and co-op single player modes, 40 levels and an impressive 20 upgradable weapons. The game also includes an original soundtrack made on analogue retro synthesizers such as the iconic SID chip on the Commodore 64, which produces a distinctive sound currently mimicked across numerous pop songs.

Across the previous four years, in an outsourcing capacity, Candella has worked on several renowned hardcore games such as Juiced, Stubbs the Zombie and The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift.
