Habbo Hotel offering new teenage marketing analysis tool
Dec 11th 2009 at 15:57 by Will Freeman

Habbo Hotel company Sulake is offering a new demographic measuring tool that provides users with data about what brands teenagers are discussing in the social network and gaming portal. With over 155 million users, most of whom are under 19-years-old, Habbo Hotel offers those wishing to market brands a huge and valuable source of information.
Habble enables those in marketing to track the level of online conversations taking place about their products. As well as brand names, slogans and key phrases can be monitored over a defined period. Data is updated daily and displayed and analysed in a chart that maps peaks of activity, meaning marketeers can quickly get an overview of their relative success.
“Habble helps brands understand if a message is getting through," said Phil Guest, senior vice president of global ad sales at Sulake. "To engage with young people brands first need to become part of the conversation and this new tool provides another level of insight to this hard to reach demographic.
"It is helping our advertisers understand the value of running advertising promotions in Habbo Hotel, not only showing the uplift from a promotion but more interestingly, the continued discussion long after the brand promotion has finished. Knowing this, brand marketers can build on the conversation by engaging brand advocates to spread the word.”
Habble has already been piloted for MTV International as part of a campaign promoting the MTV European Music Awards. In the wake of the campaign's opening in September, Habble demonstrated that conversations that covered the awards were up by 371 per cent in the UK, and an impressive 762 per cent in the Netherlands – something that Sulake is likely to hope will convince other brand holder of the power of its tool, and the importance of the casual gaming audience it courts.
