TAMBA Flash game unites Birmingham and Amsterdam

Viral gaming specialist TAMBA Internet has created a game for client Marketing Birmingham that promotes the city to potential visitors from Amsterdam. While it may seem strange that the Flash title, named 'Dam to the 'Ham, has such a specific remit, it is part of a wider campaign strengthening airline contact between the cities.

Available to play now, the game draws comparison between the two cities' canal networks, and charges players with negating the watery roadways, delivering passengers within time limits.

Consumers who remember Crazy Taxi will immediately appreciate this gameplay model, although 'Dam to the 'Ham is presented from a two-dimesional, top-down view.

Designed to attract players from both cities, the game is presented in English and Dutch, and hopes to draw more popularity with its 'tell a friend' facilities.

”We were delighted to win this brief from Marketing Birmingham. The campaign is a simple ‘coffee break’ game that will keep Birmingham front of mind as a key destination for a city break and we’re looking forward to seeing excellent results from it”, said Kay Hammond, CEO of TAMBA.

Lisa Smith, online campaign manager at Marketing Birmingham added: “We are delighted to be working with TAMBA to help us promote www.visitbirmingham.com."

In related news, TAMBA has been shortlisted by public vote for the public choice category of the curiously named Twit Awards, which are organised by Drum Magazine to recognise the best brands, agencies and individuals using Twitter.
