Atari turns its hand to social networking
Nov 6th 2009 at 15:54 by Ben Parfitt

Whilst the long-term strategy of David Gardner’s Atari remains largely unknown, the company’s London Studio has released a surprise Facebook application called Atari Photo Sauce.
The app is designed to allow users to “express themselves by digitally decorating and personalizing their own photos with colourful and fun stickers, speech bubbles and accessories”.
It’s all wrapped up in a drag-and-drop style interface and user’s creations can be uploaded to their photo stream. Atari claims that in the future it will release new sticker packs to mark national holidays and events.
“Atari introduced the world to computer entertainment with simple and fun games for everyone,” Atari London Studio’s development director Paulina Bozek stated.
“Atari Photo Sauce builds on that heritage with a social application that is universally appealing and instantly fun, allowing social networkers, who share billions of photos online, a new way to be creative with photos and share them instantly with friends everywhere.”
