The Sims 3 sells 3.7m
Aug 5th 2009 at 10:03 by Ben Parfitt

Following its recent financial posting, publisher EA has confirmed that The Sims 3, which was released in June, has now sold 3.7m copies worldwide, becoming the company’s top selling title in both North America and Europe for the three months ending June 30th.
The achievement is all the more notable considering the huge problems The Sims 3 suffered at the hands of online pirates in the weeks running up to its release.
The game shot straight to the top of the UK Charts upon its release, selling 1.4m copies globally in its first seven days on sale.
The first expansion for the game, entitled The Sims 3: World Adventures, will be released on PC and Mac on November 16th.
