Arkadium swoops for Advergame.com
Jul 21st 2009 at 16:40 by Ben Parfitt

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, advergames are here to stay. And there’s clearly a lot of belief left in the market following the news that New York based custom software agency Arkadium has acquired Advergame.com for an undisclosed fee.
Arkadium specialises in the creation of Flash games for consumer brands, ad agencies and online games firms. Currently the firm’s library exceeds 250 titles. Clients include Warner, NBC, Hasbro and Mattel.
“The majority of display ads shown to gamers today are irrelevant to the player and worthless to the publisher,” Arkadium CEO Kenny Rosenblatt stated, according to TechCrunch.
“Casual gamers spend thousands of hours playing online and are highly receptive to relevant advertisements.”
Following on from the news, Arkadium has also given its games portal GreatDayGames a fresh new look and added some extra functionality.
