Google announces OS launch partners

Acer, Asus, HP, Lenovo and Toshiba are among the vendors that have pledged to build computers running Google's newly announced operating system, Chrome. The internet search company announced the hardware partners in a post on its blog. It added that it was also working with Adobe to integrate its Flash and other browsing technologies into the OS.
Google said netbooks would likely be the first devices to run the OS, though analysts have said that it could spread to other low-powered devices.
The first hardware running the operating system is expected to arrive in late 2010, a year after Microsoft releases Windows 7.
Google has said that Acer, Asus, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba are amongst the firms working with the firm to deliver hardware based on the software.
