Half of mobile browser gamers buy virtual goods

Survey data released by itsmy.com shows that up to half of the users of mobile social browser games are happy to purchase virtual items from time to time for the titles they play.

In the same survey, which was conducted by the mobile social networking company, it emerged that 12 per cent of those who play social browser games are prepared spend money of the titles regularly.

The results point to the average social browser gamer as being 27, and playing several times a day for a few minutes. 1500 participants were interviewed in the survey, which pointed to the fact that large numbers of girls enjoy the format.

“Only 11 per cent of all participants are looking for a well-know brand or title," said Antonio Vince Staybl, CEO of itsmy. "Over 60 per cent play games that sound interesting because of their style or story. And this is where our creative in-house mobile browser game studio is prepared to accept the challenge. We have already more than ten new, exciting games in the pipeline and we see a huge opportunity for a market of billions of mobile phones.”
