Flight Control joins the 1m club

It seems to be the day for seven figure milestones – firstly Apple gets the party started and now Flight Control developer Firemint is following suit.

Pocket Gamer reports that late last week Flight Control was downloaded from the App Store for the one millionth time, netting the developer (according to the source’s calculations) £500,000 in the process.

Flight Control recently received a high-profile update that bought with it two new maps, new planes, online scoreboards and connectivity with Firemint’s Cloudcell network.

“With Flight Control, we showed that we can make an immensely popular ultra-casual title,” Firemint's Alex Peters stated. “With [new release] Real Racing, our team has shown that we can deliver the highest level of technical and graphical excellence in iPhone games.”

The news comes just days after Flight Control welcomed the arrival of a very direct rival on the App Store – Harbor Master.

Flight Control is 59p/99c which gives the developer 35p per unit...so £350k and given exchange rates probably a bit less from other stores...still I wouldn't moan at that kind of money for a weeks work.
