Is Harbor Master the new Flight Control?
Jun 19th 2009 at 12:04 by Ben Parfitt

WATCH THE VIDEO: Such has been the success of the Firemint’s chart-topping iPhone app Flight Control that clones were an inevitability – fortunately Imangi’s new Harbor Master looks to be a lot more than just a by-the-numbers copy.
Available now for 59p, Harbor Control takes many of the aspects that made Flight Control such a huge success but wraps it all up in a nautical setting.
We’ve already had a quick chance to take a look at Imangi’s title and at first glance it appears to be a very polished alternative to Firemint’s classic.
Though the gameplay, and indeed the visuals, are fundamentally the same, subtle differences lead to a quite different game experience. As well as docking boats, players must also leave time for them to unload their cargo and then direct them to safety before other ships can dock at port.
As with its rival, Harbor Master also allows users to create an online profile, upload scores and net in-game achievements.
It looks great though, and for 59p it’s hard to see this one going wrong.
