Flower tops PSN March charts
Apr 16th 2009 at 16:38 by Ben Parfitt

Despite a number of high-profile releases on the PlayStation Network in March, Thatgamecompany’s uniquely tranquil Flower remained the best selling game on Sony’s portal last month.
It’s the second month on the trot that Flower has captured the top spot, and in doing so in March it successfully fended off the advances of new releases such as Sony pair Buzz Junior: Jungle Party and Burn Zombie Burn, Worms and Warner’s download-only Watchmen – the latter of which failed to trouble the top ten at all.
New entries included Wheel of Fortune and Red Baron Arcade, though perhaps more notable is Bandai Namco’s Noby Noby Boy slipping just one place to capture third spot – though considering the admission from creator Keita Takahashi that the game is not selling strongly, perhaps this asks questions about the number of digital units Sony is successfully shifting.
On that subject, the fascinating Noby Noby Stats website shows that 19,000 new players registered their characters in March. Obviously, online registration is not necessarily an indication of total sales – but for a title in which internet functionality is so fundamental, it’s logical to presume the few offline players have dabbled.
Here’s the full PSN March top ten, as reported by Gamerbytes:
1. Flower
2. Wheel of Fortune
3. Noby Noby Boy
4. Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty
5. Mortal Kombat II
6. Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
7. 3 on 3 NHL Arcade
8. Red Baron Arcade
9. Age of Booty
10. Linger in Shadows
