EA introduces avatars to Pogo
Apr 3rd 2009 at 17:27 by Will Freeman

EA has introduced an avatar system to its free online gaming website Pogo.
Named Pogo Minis, the new customisable player-characters have launched across the UK, French and German Pogo sites in localised form.
Pogo community members can create both avatars and backgrounds by combining thousands of items, outfits and other bonuses. The various elements are purchased with tokens that are won by playing the range of Pogo games. Additionally, animated backgrounds and virtual items can be purchased for an additional fee. These animated premium offerings can also be attained with Pogo Gems, which form the portals own currency.
“We wanted to extend the ability for all players to showcase their personality while giving them access to an even larger offering of games and features,” said Pogo general manager Michael Marchetti.
“We’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our Club Pogo players about how much they love creating their online persona with Pogo Minis. It’s become a favourite way for players to express themselves and connect with other players in our passionate and tight-knit community.”
