AOL launches new casual games site
Apr 1st 2009 at 12:02 by Ben Parfitt

Leading internet firm AOL has lifted the lid on its brand new casual games site FlytrapGames.com, which it hopes will tap into the ever-growing casual games community.
The site is being run in conjunction with established games website Kikizo. It will cover everything from expansive downloadable titles to browser-based gaming and emerging platform such as the iPhone.
“We saw a gap in the market for an unbiased, editorially-led site about casual gaming,” AOL Europe’s director of games Sean O’Connell stated. “This is an opportunity for AOL to create a completely new community, which will offer a compelling vehicle for advertising partners to reach an engaged, niche audience.
“While there are hundreds of sites out there where you can play free online games, FlyTrapGames gives gamers a unique curated guide to this world. We aim to highlight the best online games in the world at any given moment.”
AOL already enjoys a significant presence in the casual games space with its AOL-branded casual portal, which boasts nearly one million unique visitors a month.
