Nintendo: PSP and iPhone no threat
Feb 16th 2009 at 15:59 by Will Freeman

Nintendo's vice president of corporate affairs has said that the platform holder sees no threat from the iPhone and PSP.
Speaking with IGN, Denise Kaigler said: "All of us at Nintendo applaud any device that spurs interest in on-the-go gaming, because that helps expand a form of entertainment that has always been one of our core strengths”.
Kaigler added that last year “consumers purchased 9.9m hardware systems in the United States, an all-time record for a portable system. On top of that they bought nearly 60m games for Nintendo DS. Clearly people are still finding fun and interesting ways to spend their time with the system."
Naming Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Pokemon Platinum, GTA: Chinatown Wars and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time as forthcoming games that strengthen the DS's status in the coming months, Kaigler concluded: “Nintendo DS and the upcoming Nintendo DSi will continue to stand out with games and experiences that just aren’t possible on any other system.”
