Eidos and Gimme5 part company
Feb 9th 2009 at 12:51 by Ben Parfitt

Britsoft publisher Eidos has parted ways with casual games developer Gimme5games, with Matt Spall’s outfit pledging to carry on operating as an independent web and casual studio.
The move signifies Eidos’ intention to focus on its cornerstone franchises such as Tomb Raider going forwards and to move away from the casual games space.
As part of the agreement, Eidos has sold back its rights to Gimme5games.com and DifferenceGames.com to original owner and industry veteran Matt Spall, along with its games and properties, who will continue as Gimme5’s general manager.
“This is the best route for all parties involved,” Spall stated. “We understand we're not the focus of Eidos' business right now, but we passionately believe in our business and this way the team here are free to explore new and exciting business opportunities.”
