New conference to focus on iPhone gaming

Gaming on the iPhone is to get its own dedicated conference with the debut of the iGames Summit, taking place on March 19th in San Francisco.

The event, which is accepting submissions for speakers until January 30th, is due to cover topics including iPhone distribution, social gaming, harnessing GPS and bridging the gap between online and mobile.

Cnet has quoted organiser Charles Hudson, who said: "The market for iPhone games is exploding, and we're organizing our first event focused on this vibrant market. Our half-day event will bring together leading iPhone game developers, investors, and industry executives to share their collective wisdom on what's working today and where this exciting industry is heading."

Currently, companies confirmed to attend include Booyah, Zynga, admob, SGN and Tapulous. 3rd Power LLC, the teams behind the Virtual Goods Summit and the Social Gaming Summit are responsible for the iGames Summit 2009.
