Google’s Sidney Mock becomes SPIL CCO

Just days after announcing that it’s a step closer to global casual dominance, SPIL Games has announced that former Google exec Sidney Mock has joined the firm as chief commercial officer.

In his new role, Mock will head up new strategy planning for its sales and business development divisions across its 50 online games portals.

He comes from Google where he has previously served as industry leader at the Dutch division and country marketing manager at the Benelux outfit. Throughout his time at the company Mock was involved in the launch of Google Maps, iGoogle and the Benelux arm of YouTube.

“SPIL Games is poised to benefit from the continuous growth of the global online games market and the need for marketers to more precisely target their audiences," Mock stated. “With an excellent catalogue of targeted online game portals and a roadmap of innovative projects in the pipeline for 2009, we are uniquely positioned for helping our partners in the best possible way.”

SPIL CEO Peter Driessen added: “Sidney Mock brings with him the valuable blend of creativity, passion, and business sense that will be invaluable to SPIL Games. His achievements in Benelux have been notable, and we are confident that he will continue that success with us.”
