New fitness title jogging onto Wii
Nov 12th 2008 at 12:50 by Ben Parfitt

Not wanting to risk the chance that any overweight Wii owners are still lurking out there, publisher Deep Silver has announced that it is to release its own entry into the console exercise sector – Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009.
The title carries the name of celebrity fitness trainer Jillian Michaels from American TV series The Biggest Loser. It will compete with Nintendo’s globally popular Wii Fit and Atari’s recent entry into the market, Family Trainer.
Jillian Michaels said of the game: “As a huge gamer myself with younger siblings and god children, I recognise the importance of staying current with how people digest their media and information. I truly think this type of product will be instrumental in revolutionising the fitness industry and will help combat the childhood obesity epidemic today.”
Dr. Kelmens Kundratitz of Deep Silver owner Koch Media added: “The Wii Balance Board offers new, fascinating ways of interacting with a game. Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2009 makes full use of this in order to both challenge and improve players' fitness. We are looking forward to being able to work with a well-known fitness star such as Jillian Michaels, whose vast experience will contribute greatly to the game's development.”
The title is due for release early next year.
