SPIL grabs global second spot

SPIL Games has announced that it has cemented its position as the world’s second most popular casual games network, with official stats from Google Analytics showing that its monthly unique user count now reaches 100 million.

The network boasts over 50 targeted sites worldwide in a number of territories including the UK, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Russia, Turkey, North America and Brazil. Its portals are targeted towards specific segments of the casual market, and include the likes of Games.co.uk, Mygames.co.uk and Girlsgogames.co.uk.

The stats place SPIL’s sites above the likes of MSN Games, EA Online, WildTangent and AOL. 2007 saw its numbers triple, and this year has seen them double. Its sights are now set on becoming the world’s largest casual games portal.

“Our success comes from understanding what our customers want, then creating localized portals with content relevant to their demographic,” SPIL CEO Peter Driessen stated. “Our game portfolio offers a variety of high-quality, free-to-play, original games that bring players back again and again.

“And since each portal appeals to its own unique demographic and specific online audience, advertisers can easily target the markets that best suit their needs.”

BTW, I hope you realize you just got manipulated for free advertising? SPIL is making a claim based on their internal numbers?
Any games site should do that? While I don't doubt their growth and they are doing a good job I think these sort of press releases need to be vetted.

Hi, also according to Comscore Spil is the nr 2 in worldwide gaming traffic, close to Yahoo games. But if just internal numbers are used your comment is right, just internal numbers is tricky.
