Mgestyk brings gesture control to PC
Nov 7th 2008 at 11:42 by Ben Parfitt

With Nintendo’s investment in motion control seemingly redefining the rules of the current console market, opening up the sector to whole new generation of casual gamers in the process, Mgestyk is now trying to do the same for PC gaming.
The technology claims to allow PC users to control games, along with any number of other applications including iTunes, Google Earth and web browsers, using nothing more than hand gestures. Along with the software, the only other equipment users will need is “an affordable 3D camera”.
The makers claim that Mgestyk betters existing technologies, such as Sony’s EyeToy, in several ways. For example, it processes gestures in full 3D, it can operate in a dark room and does not require users to stand in front of a plain background. It can also be configured to work with any software, eradicating the need for developer support.
No price or release date has been announced as of yet.
