Now Gamecock goes casual
Sep 24th 2008 at 20:04 by Michael French

Relatively new games publisher Gamecock has spawned a new casual label called Upshot, whose first game is a pool game for the Wii.
The game, American Pool Deluxe, has been known about for some time, but not Gamecock's affiliation with the label.
Upshot plans to publish the game in the US during November. While the game makes use of the Wiimote accelerometer for its pool cue controls, the company also plans to release an add-on peripheral that also works with it.
Dividing its business like this seems to make sense for Gamecock (itself a label of Gone Off Deep, a holding company with a familiar acronym - Gamecock's founders were also founders of GOD, once a publishing label at Take-Two). Gamecock's signings so far have been predominantly core gamer focused releases, even those aimed at casual-friendly downloadable channels.
Gamecock was founded in early 2007 with the specific aim of funding new IPs by independent studios and promoting the creative talents behind the games.
