Harry Potter delay costs EA $120m
Sep 9th 2008 at 10:53 by Tim Ingham

The delay to EA Casual Entertainment’s Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince game will costs the publisher $120m in this financial year.
According to a form 8K filing in a Regulation FD Disclosure, ‘Electronic Arts had anticipated that the game would contribute approximately $120 million in GAAP and non-GAAP net revenue [to FY2008/2009]’.
However, the title has now been pushed back to next summer – after the end of EA’s fiscal year, ended March 31st, 2009.
As reported by CasualGaming.biz yesterday, Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince was originally due for release in November – but EA moved it back after Warner Bros. delayed the film of the same name.
The title will be released globally on Wii, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, DS, PC and mobile.
