PopCap opens UK mobile store
Sep 4th 2008 at 11:57 by Stuart O'Brien

PopCap has started selling its mobile games direct to consumers in the UK and Ireland
The move makes it one of the few publishers to open a mobile retail presence outside the content portals run by individual mobile network operators.
Players can text a shortcode or type in a wap URL to access the site, where they can purchase PopCap’s Bookworm, Chuzzle, Bejeweled or Zuma at £5 per game plus data charges.
PopCap games have been downloaded more than one billion times across all paltforms, including web portals, retail stores, phones, MP3 players, and game devices.
