Electronic Arts' Casual Entertainment team is the latest to use a celebrity face to help promote a mass-market console title - the firm has signed up Natasha Bedingfield as the spokesperson for its new Boogie SuperStar game for the Nintendo Wii.

Nintendo, Ubisoft and Activision have all turned to familiar faces to help push their non-core offerings like Brain Training, the Imagine Games and Guitar Hero.

Beddingfield has two songs in EA's singing game and will now help promote it as well.

"Boogie SuperStar brings to life all the fun and excitement of performing," the star said in announcing the partnership with EA.

"Being on stage is such a thrill and it's great to be a part of an EA video game that lets girls experience how much fun it is to express themselves and explore their own creativity by performing."

This latest version of Boogie is a singing version of the original dancing game released last year for the Wii.

"Boogie SuperStar represents a new level in the convergence of games and music," said Steve Schnur, worldwide executive for music and marketing. "

EA has combined the very best game interactive capabilities of the Wii technology and the Boogie brand to form an unprecedented soundtrack with the hottest new tracks made famous by the biggest artists in the world today. We've been actively involved in Natasha's career since its inception, and we're proud to have a star like her actively involved."

The title is released in Europe and North America in October - with the European version boasting a special selection of localised tracks. EA is also planning to release the title in Asia in the coming months as well.
