Funspot games hit Sharp HDTVs
Aug 9th 2008 at 13:57 by Tim Ingham

Accedo Broadband has agreed a deal to bring its Funspot game service to Sharp AQUOS internet-connected LCD TVs.
The new service will allow users to access Accedo’s casual games from the comfort of their living room.
Users of Sharp AQUOS LCD TVs equipped with the AQUOS Net feature will be able to play games from the Funspot range through the remote control, according to Reuters.
The games will benefit from HD graphics which can be viewed in full screen or half screen.
"Funspot from Accedo is a very powerful proposition for interactive casual games in front of the TV. We will continue to expand and develop the service offering from the initial launch based on user demand and behavior," said Michael Lantz, CEO of Accedo Broadband.
"The flexibility and convenience of the user experience delivered by the AQUOS Net platform are ideal for a seamless integration with Accedo's Funspot gaming solution. The close integration of widget functionality and possibilities for both full screen and half screen execution show Sharp's deep understanding for interactivity in the future living room."
The Funspot range includes arcade games, puzzles, board games, strategy games, card games and quizzes.
Sharp’s AQUOS Net service is available through the Ethernet jack on Sharp AQUOS SE94U series televisions.
