Oberon inks deal with Sky TV

CASUAL CONNECT ’08:Oberon Media is celebrating a trio of massive new as deals for its casual games – not least a new partnership with Sky TV.

The casual games firm will now enjoy ad-supported game channels on SPILL Group’s Gamenext, a leading online game destination featuring dozens of localized portals; and a commercial relationship with Sweet IM, which provides instant messaging technology and content.

But it is the Sky deal which will be most enviously looked upon by Oberon’s rivals. It’s ad-supported games will team up with the UK's largest digital pay television platform and a leading broadcaster of sports, movies, entertainment and news.

“Advertising-supported game channels represent a significant growth opportunity for Oberon,” Tomer Ben Kiki, Oberon Media CEO said. “And our new, optimized organization is perfectly positioned to take the company and its partners to the next level.”

Further, in an expansion of an existing relationship, Oberon and Telefónica, one of the leading integrated telecommunications operators worldwide, will soon launch a new ad-supported game channel.
