The US parent of Britsoft publisher Empire, Silverstar Holdings, has launched a new e-commerce web site that offers downloadable casual PC games.

BigCityGames.com comes from the firm’s PC game publishing unit, Strategy First Inc.

The Site offers affordable, downloadable casual games that cover genres, including arcade, puzzle, and Match-3. Titles available from kick off include Cradle Of Rome, 10 Talismans and The Magic Ball 3.

Pricing begins at $9.99 per title, and gamers are encouraged to take advantage of package offerings.

Clive Kabatznik, CEO of Silverstar Holdings commented, "This represents an exciting new distribution channel for Strategy First, designed to tap the fastest growing segment of the electronic game market.

“We see this expanding our demographic reach to both younger and older generations who find many of today's main-stream games too complex and demanding. These groups are helping to fuel the growing worldwide demand for more casual games.

“Given the popularity of this segment of the game industry, this is an important step enabling us to establish a presence in this high margin, fast growing business."
